Supercars ratifies centre of gravity adjustments
Specific CoG testing took place post Bathurst 12 Hour test
2026 season gets underway in Sydney this weekend
Supercars has ratified a centre of gravity (CoG) adjustment to match the three Gen3 models after specific CoG testing took place post the on track Bathurst 12 Hour test.
The 2026 Repco Supercars Championship will commence at this weekend’s DUNLOP Sydney 500, with pre-season testing also taking place at Sydney Motorsport Park.
Supercars has confirmed a CoG adjustment has been made to the Camaro to match it with the Mustang and Supra.
This has been achieved by positioning 4.4kg of ballast in the Camaro, wrapped around the tube directly above and forward of the passenger seat area.
Centre of gravity is the balance point of an object, and in a race car, is located between the front and rear wheels and ideally as close to the ground as physically possible.
Will Brown, aboard his #888 Red Bull Ampol Ford Mustang, topped Wednesday's session of the Destination NSW Sydney Test Day.
All 24 cars return on the full 3.9km Gardner Circuit tomorrow evening for Session 2 of the Destination NSW Sydney Test Day from 5:30pm to 9:30pm local time.
The 2026 Repco Supercars Championship begins at the DUNLOP Sydney 500 from February 20-22. Tickets for the event, including DUNLOP Free Friday, are on sale now.
