Perkins to drive alongside rookie Jackson Walls in #11 Mustang
39-year-old to mentor Walls through rookie campaign
Objective Racing have confirmed the signing of Jack Perkins as rookie Jackson Walls' co-driver for the 2026 Ryco Enduro Cup.
Perkins departed Blanchard Racing Team after last year's enduros, with a two-year co-driving stint coming to an end as the family squad pounced on free agent and 2023 Bathurst winner Richie Stanaway.
Perkins was quickly linked to the SCT Motorsport seat, with official confirmation coming that there will be a mix of youth and experience in the #11 Objective Mustang at The Bend and Bathurst.
The 39-year-old will starts his 21st Bathurst 1000, and will also be reunited with the number that his father Larry Perkins famously took to three Bathurst wins in the 1990s.
Perkins junior last drove in Supercars with the #11 in 2009 at Sydney Olympic Park, and has started two Bathurst 1000s with the family number.
His role with Objective Racing isn't just limited to the enduros, with Perkins set to mentor 23-year-old Walls throughout his rookie campaign, stepping back from his broadcast work with the Seven Network after five years.
“I'm absolutely delighted to be joining Objective Racing alongside Jackson Walls,” said Perkins.
“Coming in as a co-driver, I can’t wait to be involved with one of the most successful outfits in Supercars in Triple Eight, and their upcoming new team.
“It’s great to be working with Jackson, who’s been very competitive in Porsche Carrera Cup and Super2. I’m keen to support him as a co-driver and as a voice in the garage for his first year.
"The last two rookies I’ve co-driven with were Will Brown and Scott McLaughlin, who've gone on to be incredibly successful in their careers and there’s a similar feel with Jackson and Objective Racing this year.
“To be in car 11 at Bathurst will be very special for me personally and indeed my family. Dad won three Bathurst’s with car 11 in the nineties and that number is synonymous with the Perkins name.
“I’m very thankful to Jackson, Andrew (Jones), Jamie Whincup and Earl Evans for giving me this opportunity and can’t wait to drive with Objective Racing. ”
Walls, who will start his first career Supercars race on Friday in Sydney, said that he is excited to learn off the vastly experienced Perkins, who claimed a Bathurst podium in 2019 for Walkinshaw.
“I’m very excited for Jack Perkins to be joining Objective Racing for this years’ endurance season," said Walls.
“It's awesome to have someone like Jack join the team, he's reliable, fast when he needs to be, and always does a great job. He has a huge amount of experience with this style of racing, I’m looking forward to the valuable guidance he’ll provide at these two events and throughout the year.
“It's also really nice to reunite him with the number 11, the Perkins family have such a strong connection to it, so it's quite special for me to run it too."
