Greg Murphy bolsters TV team for Supercars enduros
Four-time Bathurst winner returns for The Bend, Bathurst coverage
2026 enduros commence at The Bend on September 11-13
Supercars legend Greg Murphy will "say it how it is" in his return to the broadcast line-up for the all-important Ryco Enduro Cup rounds.
Murphy will join the Supercars broadcast team for the upcoming AirTouch 500 at The Bend and Repco Bathurst 1000. The four-time Bathurst winner's return comes as Mark Winterbottom, James Courtney and Craig Lowndes return to the driver’s seat for the year’s longest races.
Murphy, who has been a constant trackside in 2026 alongside mentee Ryan Wood, is excited to lend his expertise to this year’s enduro coverage.
“It’s an easy transition back into doing something with the TV side of things, considering the period I've been doing it,” Murphy told Supercars.com.
“I’m happy to help out the team in that respect. I have a few other responsibilities at the track, but I’m happy to play a part while the gap has been created.
“I say it how it is, and I’m comfortable coming in and offering whatever I can."

"Murph will join Jess Yates at the host desk, and Richard Craill and Garth Tander in the commentary booth for next weekend’s AirTouch 500 at The Bend and, of course, next month’s Repco Bathurst 1000. Murph tells it how he sees it, which is both why he is still a fan favourite, and precisely why he will be a positive addition to the broadcast.
"A four-time winner of the Great Race and the man behind the iconic ‘Lap of the Gods’, Murph knows a thing or two about Bathurst, and we look forward to hearing his insights added to what is sure to be an unforgettable Enduro campaign.”
Murphy, who won the Great Race in 1996, 1999, 2003 and 2004, steps in as the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship approaches a crucial juncture.
The 2026 Repco Supercars Finals Series field will be locked in after Bathurst.
"I look forward to every race, really. The enduros are a great part of the championship, particularly getting to the 1000 in October,” Murphy continued.
“It's always intriguing for me to see where drivers end up, how the combinations work, and the pressure that it puts on co-drivers as well.
“The Finals are now a whole different sort of kettle of fish. There's a lot on the line at these two races, a lot at stake, and this time of year certainly keeps all the fans on their toes.”
Murphy returns to the broadcast team from the AirTouch 500 at The Bend, with track action commencing on Friday September 11.
