AS IT HAPPENED: 2026 Meguiar's Bathurst 12 Hour
Before the new Repco Supercars Championship season gets underway, the Meguiar's Bathurst 12 Hour kicks off the Australian racing season at Mount Panorama.
The best of world and Australian sportscar stars have descended on Bathurst for the once-around-the-clock classic, with a whopping 31 GT3 entered in the race.
11 Supercars drivers are taking on the race, with Tickford Racing star Cam Waters claiming pole position.

Team GMR does it
Mercedes-AMG Team GMR blew the record for the lowest starting position to win the Meguiar's Bathurst 12 Hour out of the water after a remarkable 2026 edition. Maro Engel/Mikael Grenier/Maxime Martin started this morning from all the way back in 29th position, yet won the race.
Chaos, chaos, chaos
Jules Gounon and Kelvin van der Linde collided after a late restart, handing the lead to Maxime Martin. Chaz Mostert and Jayden Ojeda, meanwhile, crashed into each other in a bizarre Mercedes-AMG incident.
Big crashes punctuate final third of race
Red flags flew following a sickening crash over the top of the mountain after a Safety Car restart. The incident began when the #79 TSUNAMI RT Porsche of Johannes Zelger spun on the kink before Forrest's Elbow. Those cars were halfway around the lap having just been waved by the Safety Car at the end of the previous lap, with Ralf Aron the first on scene. Aron piled into the Porsche at near unabated speed. Earlier, James Golding walked away from a scary crash of his own across the top of the Mountain.
#64 Ford strikes kangaroo
Two cars, including an outright contender, were already out after separate incidents in the first hour of the race. Chris Mies' HRT Ford Mustang was ruled out after an incident with a kangaroo, while a failure sent the #50 KTM into the Murray's Corner barriers.
#32 BMW in the wars
The #32 WRT BMW lost a lap following an “unnecessary” first corner clash, as well as a run-in with a kangaroo. The Kelvin van der Line/Augusto Farfus/Charles Weerts car was hit with a mechanical black flag in the opening hours, dropping a lap due to repairs.
#2 Corvette charges to the front
The Pro class Johor Motorsport Racing JMR Corvette emerged as a key player at one quarter race distance. At the completion of the latest round of pit stops, Dutchman Nicky Catsburg leads in the #2 Corvette, leading a three-car lead battle rounded out by Raffaele Marciello (#46 BMW), and Cam Waters (#222 Mercedes).
Safety Cars propel #46 to the top
The second Safety Car in the opening two hours of the race tipped the complexion towards Team WRT, which cycled their way to the head of the queue after capitalising on a well-timed BMW M Safety Car intervention. After the #32 lost a lap, the #46 became a serious contender.
#888 back in the game
After a qualifying nightmare on Saturday, the #888 Team GMR Mercedes-AMG was a brilliant second through five hours, trailing the #2 Corvette and leading the #222 STM Mercedes-AMG and #46 BMW.
#222 out of contention
Thomas Randle accepted full responsibility for the incident that took the pole winning #222 Scott Taylor Motorsport Mercedes-AMG out of contention. Randle caught Kerong Li's lapped #86 High Class Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) going up the Mountain. As Randle moved left, Li crossed over, leading to gentle front to rear contact, spinning the #222.
