  • Reynolds hit Kostecki into Ryan Wood, with Kostecki copping big damage

Brodie Kostecki was left mired down the back of Race 15 in Tasmania, following a bizarre hairpin clash that saw David Reynolds penalised.

The #17 Shell V-Power Racing Ford was dumped down the order after being centre-punched by Reynolds' #20 Snowy River Caravans Chevrolet on lap 23.

Reynolds and Kostecki were classified 17th and 24th, with Kostecki dropping from second to third in the championship.

In the battle for fourth, Reynolds drilled Kostecki, who hit the rear of Ryan Wood's #2 Mobil 1 Truck Assist Toyota.

Kostecki's car picked up front and rear damage, with the rear damage forcing the #17 Mustang to be stationary in pit lane during the 2023 champion's stop.

Reynolds sustained minor front damage, but was quickly hit with a 15-second penalty over the clash.

The penalty was awarded to Reynolds after his served his stop, meaning 15 seconds would be added to his race time. Kostecki, though, dropped all the way back to last place, which became 23rd once Declan Fraser was turned around by Aaron Cameron.

Remarkably, it meant all three drivers on the Race 14 podium had been hit by trouble in Race 15, with winner Chaz Mostert penalised over a clash with Jayden Ojeda on lap 14.

Mostert sent Ojeda into a spin at Turn 6, with the reigning champion also earning a 15-second penalty.

Andre Heimgartner won the race ahead of Broc Feeney and Matt Payne, with Anton De Pasquale dropping behind Will Brown with a mistake on the final lap. Mostert finished 20th, and dropped behind Brown into 10th overall.
