  • Ryan "disappointed" by Ojeda after incident wiped out both AMGs

A bizarre Meguair's Bathurst 12 Hour crash between incoming Supercars rivals Chaz Mostert and Jayden Ojeda has led to tense inter-Mercedes scenes in pit lane.

Fighting for 13th, Mostert's #222 Scott Taylor Motorsport and Ojeda's #6 Tigani Motorsport AMGs collided exiting Griffins Bend into the final hour.

The #222 and #6 had clawed their way back onto the lead lap after a series of incidents throughout the day, with the #222 recovering after a spin for Thomas Randle.

Mostert appeared to have speed on Ojeda, but the latter clattered the exit wall, leading to a race-ending collision fo both drivers.

The incident incensed STM team manager Barry Ryan, also CEO of Supercars team Erebus Motorsport, who went into the Tigani garage to question why Ojeda didn't work with AMG stablemate Mostert.

" I was just disappointed with Ojeda there, he's a factory driver and there was another AMG trying to pass him," Ryan said on the broadcast.

"He's blocking that much with time left in the race, and we had two laps on him and we could have just made it. We were really trying to save fuel to get to the end without another stop.

"That's just disappointing that a guy like that does something like that. He's a really good driver. He's a factory driver. He should be looking after the other AMG teams and it's just disappointing to see that."

The #222 started from pole position, but the Randle spin cost the entry a number of laps.

Safety Cars brought it back into contention, while the #6 also fought back after an early kangaroo strike.

"I feel sorry for Scotty," Ryan added of team owner Taylor.

"We had car that was pretty good and yeah, just a couple little mistakes today, but then getting taken out like that, it's just, it doesn't feel good."

Mostert, Ojeda and Ryan will turn to their respective Supercars teams for Round 1 in Sydney next weekend.
