185,463 fans power 2026 Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500
Passionate fans drive big crowds throughout 2026 event, rain or shine
Chaz Mostert, Broc Feeney claim home victories as Finals begin
An incredible 185,463 fans brought energy and passion to the streets of Surfers Paradise across three action-packed days of the 2026 Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500, creating a vibrant atmosphere despite periods of challenging weather.
The passionate crowd was rewarded with a thrilling weekend of motorsport, embracing the conditions and cheering on two Repco Supercars Championship races that launched the 2026 Supercars Finals Series.
Chaz Mostert claimed victory in Saturday's opening encounter before fellow Gold Coaster Broc Feeney took the chequered flag in Sunday's race, setting the stage for an intense battle for championship honours across the 2026 Repco Supercars Finals Series.
Off the track, the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 continued to cement its reputation as the biggest party on the Supercars calendar, with heart pounding beats in the Sound Track precinct on Macintosh Island.
Fans enjoyed an all-day festival experience inside the circuit, with the Sound Track precinct featuring performances from Sneaky Sound System, Bag Raiders, Havana Brown, Ben Gerrans and a host of popular house music artists, adding to the vibrant atmosphere throughout the weekend.
Supercars Executive Chairman and interim CEO Barclay Nettlefold said the commitment shown by fans throughout the weekend was a testament to the enduring appeal of the Gold Coast event.
"The Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 remains the biggest party on the Supercars calendar, and we're incredibly grateful to the more than 185,000 fans who brought their energy and passion to Surfers Paradise despite some very challenging weather conditions," Nettlefold said.
"From the incredible skill shown by our drivers on track to the fantastic atmosphere in the new Sound Track precinct, fans had so much to embrace across the weekend, making this one of the most unique and exciting events in Australian sport.
"On behalf of Supercars, I'd like to thank our fans, volunteers, officials, and competitors, whose support helped deliver another memorable Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500.
“We also extend great thanks to the Queensland Government, Tourism and Events Queensland, City of Gold Coast, and our naming rights partner Boost Mobile for their support of one of Australia’s greatest sporting events."
While pre-event sales had been tracking up year-on-year, the final figure represents a six percent decrease on the attendance of the 2025 event, largely affected by persistent rain that impacted all three days of the event.
Notably, corporate hospitality attendance surged 16 per cent up year-on-year, marking the largest corporate attendance since 2018.
Minister for the Environment and Tourism Andrew Powell said the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 was another example of major events delivering for Queensland.
“Events like the Gold Coast 500 bring visitors through the door, support local businesses and showcase everything Queensland has to offer,” Minister Powell said.
“From packed hotels to busy restaurants, the benefits flow right across the local economy.
“That's why the Crisafulli Government is backing world-class events to grow the visitor economy and secure Queensland's place as Australia's events capital.”
Across three days, fans embraced world-class racing, booming entertainment and a festival atmosphere on and off the track, reinforcing the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500’s reputation as Queensland’s largest annual sporting event.
“Diehard race fans showed their commitment to the drivers and race teams with a strong turn out across the GC500 weekend, despite forecast wet conditions,’’ said Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate.
“Watching the world’s best Supercar drivers battle for honours on the toughest street circuit in Australia is testament to their skills and crew support. I applaud sponsors, officials and race teams for laying it on the line over three big days.
“Let’s hope the weather gods shine kindly on us in 2027."
After a memorable Gold Coast weekend powered by more than 185,000 passionate fans, the Repco Supercars Championship now heads to Melbourne for the second round of the Repco Supercars Finals Series at the Penrite Oil Sandown 500 from November 6-8, with the 2026 title to be decided at the bp Adelaide Grand Final on November 26-29.
The Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 was proudly supported by the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland and Experience Gold Coast, and event naming rights partner Boost Mobile.
