Triple Eight to run SCT Motorsport Ford Mustang in 2026
Broc Feeney, Will Brown signed to Triple Eight until at least 2029
The driver of the Triple Eight Race Engineering-run SCT Motorsport Ford has been selected as part of a joint effort, with a name to be revealed in due course.
The SCT Teams Racing Charter has shifted to Triple Eight and Ford from Brad Jones Racing, which will shift from Chevrolet to Toyota next season.
It opens up a big seat, although SCT Motorsport boss Andrew Jones hinted that it has been filled.
Who it will be remains to be seen, although Super2 points leader Rylan Gray, Super2 champion Zach Bates and current Triple Eight Super2 driver Jackson Walls have both been linked to the drive.
In the lead-up to Bathurst, SCT confirmed Jaxon Evans would not return in 2026, paving the way to Friday's news.
The driver will race alongside Triple Eight incumbents Broc Feeney and Will Brown, who are contracted to the championship leading main team until at least 2029.
The SCT seat is one of seven vacancies on the 2026 grid, with two at Matt Stone Racing, two at PremiAir Racing, and singles at Blanchard Racing Team and Erebus Motorsport. Amid a rapidly changing silly season, just last week alone, Team 18 took up its contract on David Reynolds and Nick Percat announced his retirement.

“Today is all about just announcing that SCT Motorsport is partnering with Triple Eight Race Engineering,” Jones said.
“We want to make sure that we give each step in this process the right amount of air to be able to have its time.
“I’m a process guy. I don’t like things with grey areas, so this purely is around two teams joining together with the desire to succeed.”
Jones added that the driver was selected as part of a joint effort between SCT Motorsport and Triple Eight, which is headed by Jamie Whincup.
"I think in all good partnerships, open communication is key, and we’ve had discussions around it,” Jones said, when asked who made the driver decision.
“I’ve been absolutely having conversations with Jamie around who is the preferred option to drive the car and under this entity, and we need their buy-in.
“One thing he said to me during one of our discussions is, 'we work through it'. If there’s a problem, we speak about it, we try and find a solution.
“And the bit that I really like about this so far is one of his answers is, ‘okay, no worries, we’ve done our due diligence, now we’re all-in’.
“So yes, we’ve had conversations around who the driver will look like. We have planned for that. We have prepped for that, and at the right time we’ll announce that.”
