  • Feeney survives four-tyre stop, thrilling battles to complete Saturday sweep

  • Nick Percat, Cam Waters round out podium; Will Brown misses top 10

A victorious Broc Feeney has crowned his 100th Supercars race by winning Race 12 and taking the championship lead on an absorbing afternoon at the Snowy River Caravans Tasmania Super 440.

Feeney, who charged to victory in the first race on Saturday, took four tyres and emerged as the leader amid a wild pit cycle, with a number of drivers showing their hand in the only Soft tyre race of the weekend.

With Will Brown only 11th, Feeney also emerged as the championship leader for the first time in 2025, and for the first time since last year's Grand Prix in March.

Heading into Sunday, Feeney leads Cam Waters by 13 points, with Brown 17 points back. Matt Payne, who finished seventh, is 83 points down.

Nick Percat clinched a surprise podium for Matt Stone Racing ahead of Tickford Racing star Waters, with Thomas Randle fourth ahead of the impressive Macauley Jones. James Golding, Payne, Jaxon Evans, David Reynolds and Jack Le Brocq rounded out the top 10, with Brown 11th, Brodie Kostecki 12th, and Chaz Mostert a frustrating 19th after being penalised over a first-stint clash with Brown.

"We made it very hard for ourselves doing four [tyres] when everyone else did two," Feeney said.

"I didn't expect so many people to come out in front of me, but it was a great race with Nick, congrats to him and to Macauley, there were a lot of guys in there.

"I didn't think I'd be getting emotional towards the back end of that race, but with a few laps to go I'm like, 'Man this is gonna be pretty special.'

"I just can't thank the team, my family, everyone that's backed me to get me here to do 100 races, but to win both of them today is super special."

Feeney launched off the line and into a clear lead, and enjoyed a 0.6s lead over Randle after the first lap. Behind them, Ryan Wood and Aaron Cameron collided through the opening corners, seeing the former sent into a spin.

The action continued down the order as the race wore on; Bryce Fullwood dropped from sixth to 10th after losing out in a battle with David Reynolds. Waters marched on and cleared Reynolds down the back straight, before Payne dropped the TRADIE Energy Chevrolet to eighth.

Behind them, Brown had made no progress from 13th, and came off worse in contact with Mostert at Turn 2. The clash was placed under investigation, and as Brown returned serve, Kostecki closed up on the duo.

Brown remonstrated over team radio, only to fall behind Kostecki on the following lap. By then, Mostert had been hit with a five-second penalty over the incident, with Brown jumping Kostecki in the lane.

Randle stopped on lap 20 and rejoined, with Mostert serving his penalty. Feeney and Payne were brought in on lap 22, with Feeney emerging just ahead of Randle. Golding and Jones, who had been running effective third and fourth came in.

In a masterstroke, Jones was returned to the race in the lead as Feeney and Randle battled, with Golding resuming between. Percat then stopped, and as was the case last year, emerged in a shock effective lead.

With 24 laps to go, Waters was brought in as Feeney hounded Percat. Randle hit the rear of Feeney at the hairpin, with Waters emerging alongside Feeney. However, on cold tyres, Waters dropped behind Randle, Jones and Golding.

Feeney stayed with Percat and muscled through for the effective lead at Turn 7. Once clear of Percat, Feeney used his pace and set the fastest lap of the race on lap 31. Behind him, Waters picked off Golding at the hairpin.

Brown remained mired in the midfield, and was coached home by engineer Andrew Edwards after making contact with Fullwood at the hairpin.

Feeney was revealed as the leader once Heimgartner stopped with 16 laps to go, with Percat, Randle, Jones, Waters, Golding, Payne, Reynolds, Evans and Le Brocq rounding out the top 10. Waters quickly picked off Jones and set off after Randle, with Brown passing Fullwood. Mostert, meanwhile, was 17th.

Waters passed Randle for third with 11 laps to go through Turn 7, where Hill was sent into a spin by De Pasquale in the closing laps. De Pasquale, however, avoided penalty over the clash.

Feeney continued on untouched, and marked his 100th start with victory by 2.6213s.

Supercars will return to the track for Boost Mobile Qualifying at 9:35am local time on Sunday.
