Rising star to drive an Image Racing Commodore
Super2 Series rookie Jesse Love will arrive in Australia as the newest NASCAR Xfinity Series champion.
Love, who will race an Image Racing-prepared Holden Commodore ZB in Adelaide, won Sunday's (AEDT) NASCAR Xfinity Championship race in Phoenix.
Love overhauled Connor Zilisch in the closing 30 laps of the race, before racing away to just his second win of the season, and first since the season opener at Daytona.
“So relieved," Love said post-race.
"It’s been a tough year for me and people like my dad and my whole No.2 team to work as hard on my own dream as I have… it just doesn’t feel real."
The 20-year-old will make his Super2 debut at the bp Adelaide Grand Final on November 27-30. Image Racing owner, Terry Wyhoon is friends with Love's team owner Richard Childress Racing.
Love won the 2023 ARCA Series, and also won the ARCA West Series in 2020, aged just 15.
The American will complete a test program to get up to speed in the Erebus-built Holden Commodore, which includes a test day at Mallala Motorsport Park.
Love is the is the second confirmed NASCAR star to take on the streets of Adelaide, with 2022 Daytona 500 winner Austin Cindric to race a third Tickford Mustang in the Repco Supercars Championship.
