Campbell Logan secures Sandown pole sweep
Logan pips Tickford teammate Ben Gomersall by 0.003s
Top four in points all qualify in top five
Campbell Logan's starring weekend has continued at Sandown, securing back-to-back Boost Mobile Pole Awards at Sandown.
The Tasmanian, who enters the final race 24 points off the series lead, is in prime position to potentially steal the points lead entering the final round in Adelaide.
However, it was by no means a comfortable pole margin for Logan, with just 0.003s covering Logan and Ben Gomersall on the front row of the grid.
The day began with a question mark still hanging over Saturday's results, with the Blanchard Racing Team protesting Nash Morris over his clash with Lochie Dalton in Race 1. The protest was officially dismissed during the session.
BRT had an extremely busy night repairing the cars of both Dalton and Bailey Sweeny, who was also caught up in a Race 1 incident, whilst they also had to repair Aaron Cameron's main game Ford.
Unlike Saturday, Sunday dawned dry at Sandown, and Brad Jones Racing showed an impressive turn of speed on the opening run, Brad Vaughan going fastest on a 1:09.661s, whilst teammate Matt Hillyer was third, the pair split by Race 1 winner Campbell Logan.
Ben Gomersall put together a serious marker to gap the field on a 1:09.046s on his first green lap, some four tenths of a second clear of Vaughan's improved marker, however there were still more than three minutes remaining.
Logan then pipped his Tickford teammate to go back to the top, where he would remain to secure back-to-back poles, carrying on his strong form from Saturday.
All four key title contenders will start inside the top five, with Vaughan securing third alongside Nash Morris, whilst series leader Dalton will line up fifth.
Race 2 for the DUNLOP Super2 Series will begin at 2:05pm AEDT.
