Supercars confirms that Chief Operating Officer Tim Watsford has made the decision to resign from his role and will be departing the organisation in the coming months to take on a new opportunity as CEO of a sporting club.

Since joining Supercars in October 2022, Tim has played an instrumental role in strengthening government partnerships, securing key event renewals, and delivering major strategic initiatives, including the sport’s return to New Zealand with the ITM Taupō Super400, and advancing discussions on the proposed Burswood Street Circuit in Perth.

Supercars CEO Shane Howard said:

"We sincerely thank Tim for his contributions and dedication to Supercars over the past two and a half years.

"On behalf of the entire organisation, we wish him all the best in his next endeavour.”

Supercars has a comprehensive plan in place to ensure a smooth and seamless transition for all stakeholders and suppliers as the organisation moves forward.

The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship will resume at the Melbourne SuperSprint, which will feature at the Formula 1 Louis Vuitton Australian Grand Prix 2025 on March 13-16.

Tickets for the upcoming ITM Taupō Super 440 are also on sale now.
