After three rounds of the season, have we seen signs of who has made the right move?

Three drivers found new homes in 2025, while three rookies are now on the grid.

Those that did move teams carried a lot of promise into 2025, and through three rounds, each driver has had some highs and lows.

Reigning Bathurst champion Brodie Kostecki has found a new home in Shell V-Power Racing Team, and has quickly emerged as one to watch. Kostecki replaced Anton De Pasquale, who has impressed at Team 18, while Richie Stanaway moved from Penrite Racing to PremiAir Racing.

Then, there's Kai Allen and Cooper Murray, who debuted with Penrite Racing and Erebus Motorsport, with Aaron Cameron making his debut midway through the year.

Who has delivered? Supercars.com assesses the early season form of the full-time drivers who hoped a change of scenery would deliver an upswing in performance.

Brodie Kostecki

After three rounds in 2024: 25th

After three rounds in 2025: 6th

The 2023 champ missed the first two rounds of 2024, so clearly, he's already better off. However, with two pole positions and a podium already in the bank, Kostecki has emerged as a real contender for the 2025 championship. The Shell V-Power Racing Team has gone from strength to strength across the first three rounds, and a fired-up Kostecki considered himself unlucky not to win a race or two in New Zealand.

Anton De Pasquale

After three rounds in 2024: 12th

After three rounds in 2025: 8th

De Pasquale left Round 3 last year with a surprise Jason Richards Memorial Trophy and two podiums, but that's where the luck ran out in his final year with Dick Johnson Racing. Through three rounds this season. De Pasquale has dragged Team 18 towards the front, and had he not suffered consecutive pit stop dramas in New Zealand, he would have finished all nine races in the top 10. Very promising signs, with De Pasquale adamant Team 18 can win this season.

Season race average: 9.33 (7th of all drivers)

Season qualifying average: 10.8 (9th of all drivers)

Kai Allen

After three rounds in 2024: N/A

After three rounds in 2025: 16th

026-Allen-EV-01-25-A0089

The driver Allen replaced, Richie Stanaway, sat fourth after three rounds in 2024. On paper, 16th is an obvious drop for Allen, but the 2023 Super2 champion looks to be on a genuine upwards trend. After being beaten from pillar to post in Sydney and Melbourne, Allen showed impressive pace in New Zealand. After reaching his maiden Shootout, Allen was tipped into a spin at Turn 1. If he maintains competitive pace and finds luck, the teen could be in with an outside chance at silverware.

Season race average: 14.89 (15th of all drivers)

Season qualifying average: 13.6 (15th of all drivers)

Richie Stanaway

After three rounds in 2024: 4th

After three rounds in 2025: 22nd

stanaway ev03 2025 MH6 0146

Stanaway started 2024 strongly with Penrite Racing, but quickly fell away. The Kiwi moved to PremiAir Racing for 2025, but was undone by a DNF in Sydney, and had more hits than Elvis in Melbourne. Then, in New Zealand, he had some solid pace, but a strategy gamble didn't go his way. Still, Stanaway maintained he had his best feeling yet in the finale, offering hope of better results to come.

Season race average: 17.38 (21st of all drivers)

Season qualifying average: 14.0 (17th of all drivers)

Cooper Murray

After three rounds in 2024: N/A

After three rounds in 2025: 23rd

murray barry ryan ev02 melbourne 2025

At first glance, Murray's start to life in Supercars looks tough and luckless. However, despite being run off the track multiple times in New Zealand, and being taken out in Melbourne, Murray has shown glimpses of his raw, ruthless speed. He qualified third for the Melbourne finale, which was washed out. If that race went ahead, there's no doubt the Victorian would have made his presence felt, and this would be a vastly different story.

Season race average: 19.5 (23rd of all drivers)

Season qualifying average: 13.6 (14th of all drivers)

Aaron Cameron

After three rounds in 2024: N/A

After three rounds in 2025: 24th

cameron JM2 2166

For the purposes of this exercise, it's worth mentioning Cameron, who replaced Aaron Love after Round 1 at Blanchard Racing Team. The Ford squad is struggling in 2025, but Cameron is taking it to veteran teammate James Courtney. Courtney leads the qualifying head-to-head 4-3, and 4-1 in races. Cameron hasn't been afraid to get his elbows out in the races, but it's obvious the team needs to find more pace to get a better read on where the rookie sits in the field.

Season qualifying average: 23.0 (24th of all drivers)
