PremiAir Racing confirms Ludo Lacroix departure

PremiAir preparing to welcome new Team Principal Roland Dane
Ludo Lacroix will depart PremiAir Racing at the end of the 2025 Supercars season, the team has confirmed.
Lacroix joined the Chevrolet squad from Ford rivals Dick Johnson Racing ahead of the 2024 season, and led the team to its first podium and pole in the same year.
The news comes after the team prepares to welcome new Team Principal Roland Dane, who previously worked with Lacroix at Triple Eight Race Engineering. Jayden Ojeda and Declan Fraser will form an all-new driver line-up in 2026.
In a team statement, the Peter Xiberras-owned team thanked the Frenchman for his contribution.
"After two rewarding years with PremiAir Racing, Ludo has chosen to move on to new opportunities," the team said.
"Throughout his time with us, he has played a key role in our technical and performance development, bringing invaluable experience, leadership, and passion to our team environment.
"We are sincerely grateful for his contribution to PremiAir Racing’s progress and professionalism during his time with us."
In a team video, Lacroix said Dane is "going to make a difference," insisting "anybody that is thinking he's not doesn't understand the racing." He also added that he is also feeling the strain of the 90-minute commute from his Brisbane home to the team’s Gold Coast workshop.
He added that he's not "walking away" and that he's "leaving on good terms," but said claiming two podiums in two years wasn't enough.
Additionally, Lacroix claimed the Gen3 cars have made veterans like him "less relevant," admitting "my knowhow and my knowledge has probably not had the impact it would have had in the past."
"Yes, I will leave PremiAir at the end of the year," Lacroix explained.
"My contract finishes on the 31st of December. I'm committed to PremiAir [until then].
"Peter has been fantastic for me. I have tried to do a lot. I am not excessively happy with our overall results.
*I came here with Steve [Robertson] at the time as the team manager, he is a good friend of mine, he was my number one [mechanic] in my DTM-winning championship, so somebody I really like.
"Things have changed since, I think the team is in a better order due to Steve, due to myself, due to Peter investing a lot in it.
"We have got a very good group of young engineers, passionate; Romy [Mayer] is still with us, I'm very proud of the data guys down there, so I'm really thinking on the engineering side that we're looking good."
