Matt Stone Racing has confirmed it has parted ways with Team Principal Pete Vale.

Vale joined MSR ahead of the 2022 season, and has overseen the team's three wins in the championship.

He previously served at Brad Jones Racing following a stint in Formula 1, with Vale completing stints at McLaren, Lotus, Williams and Manor.

In a statement posted to its social media accounts, MSR said team owner Stone will take over the Team Principal role as the Yatala squad looks to bolster its engineering department.

"Matt Stone Racing farewells Pete Vale," the team posted.

"Today is Pete Vale’s last day with the team. We want to thank him for his contributions to MSR over the past 3 years. Thanks Pete!

"Matt Stone will be assuming the position of Team Principal, as we look to further bolster our engineering department, rather than directly replacing the role."

Cameron Hill and Nick Percat are seventh and 14th in the championship after three rounds in 2025.

Canberran Hill won his first Supercars race at the Australian Grand Prix in March, and finished second in the Taupō finale earlier this month.

The 2025 season resumes in Tasmania on May 9-11.
