Mark Winterbottom joins Perth Supercars broadcast
2015 Supercars champion to feature in special comments role
Winterbottom won seven Perth races between 2008 and 2016
Supercars legend Mark Winterbottom will feature on the Supercars broadcast for this weekend’s Bosch Power Tools Perth Super 440.
The 2015 Supercars champion will join the award-winning broadcast team for Supercars sessions in a special comments role, both from the commentary box and pit lane.
Supercars fans will be taken into the driver’s seat in Perth by Winterbottom, who won seven races at CARCO.com.au Raceway. In the Perth circuit’s 52-year history, only Craig Lowndes and Mark Skaife won more.
The 2025 season is the first since 2003 without Winterbottom in a full-time racing role. However, the 2013 Bathurst winner has remained a fixture of the Supercars paddock.
Winterbottom will race at Tickford Racing alongside Ford star Cam Waters for this year’s two Enduro Cup events, The Bend Enduro and Repco Bathurst 1000.
As part of his Tickford role, Winterbottom is also a mentor to the Ford team’s rising stars, with Rylan Gray, Nash Morris, Lochie Dalton and Reuben Goodall benefiting from his expertise.
It has so far paid dividends, Gray taking the Super2 points lead and round win in Tasmania, and Morris taking his first race win.
Supercars Head of Broadcast Nathan Prendergast said the fan-favourite will be a strong addition to the team, with Winterbottom a veteran of over 600 race starts.
"Fans love Frosty, and we’re excited to have him on the broadcast for Perth,” Prendergast said.
“Having someone of his experience and respect contributing will be great for fans as the season approaches the halfway mark.
“Frosty is honest, articulate and knows exactly what’s going on, and he’ll be a wonderful asset.”
The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship resumes on June 6-8 at the Bosch Power Tools Perth Super 440.
All practice, qualifying and race sessions are ad free and live on Foxtel and streamed live on Kayo. The Seven Network will have highlights on Saturday and Sunday.
