Chevrolet has 16 wins to Ford's 14 with three races remaining
Ford chasing first Champion Manufacturer title since 2020
General Motors undefeated since 2021, Chevrolet unbeaten in Gen3 era
For the first time since 2015, the battle for Supercars' Champion Manufacturer title will go down to the final round of the season.
Chevrolet remains in the box seat with 16 wins to Ford's 14, with three races remaining at the bp Adelaide Grand Final on November 27-30.
However, the Blue Oval has closed the gap in recent rounds, winning five of the last six races to surge back into contention after a dominant Repco Sprint Cup run by Broc Feeney.
Ford won both Ryco Enduro Cup races to take the head-to-head to 15-11, before Chaz Mostert reeled off three consecutive wins in The Finals to close the gap to 15-14.
However, Feeney returned serve in the Sandown finale to give GM breathing room, with a single win in Adelaide enough to extend GM's run to five consecutive Champion Manufacturer titles.
Regardless, the 16-14 head-to-head is the closest Champion Manufacturer battle since 2015, when Ford and Holden went into the Homebush finale tied on 16 wins each. Mark Winterbottom won the drivers' title, but Commodores swept the round to claim manufacturer honours.
Inaugurated in 1999, the Supercars Champion Manufacturer of the Year is awarded to the manufacturer which has the most race wins in the season. Between 1999 and 2008, it was presented to the manufacturer with the most round wins.
Holden won four straight between 1999 and 2002 before Ford won five of the next seven. GM then won 12 of the next 15, Ford only breaking through in 2017, 2019 and 2020 amid Scott McLaughlin and DJR Team Penske's dominance.
In 2026 the battle to be crowned Supercars' Champion Manufacturer will expand to a three-way fight for the first time since 2019, with Toyota entering the fray.
Track action in Adelaide commences on Thursday November 27.
