Expanded fan offerings, Screaming Jets boost 2025 betr Darwin Triple Crown

The Top End is set to explode this week with five days of action as excitement builds towards the betr Darwin Triple Crown Supercars Indigenous Round at Hidden Valley Raceway from 20–22 June 2025.

Building on its legacy as a premier event on the Supercars calendar, this year's action-packed Darwin round promises an unparalleled experience both on and off the track, featuring a new racing format, expanded community engagement, and a stellar live music line-up with performances by Australian rock legends Shannon Noll on Saturday and the Screaming Jets on Sunday.

The thrills begin off-track with major community activations designed to bring the Supercars closer to the fans. Tomorrow, Wednesday 18 June, the new Palmerston Driver Parade will commence. Supercars drivers will ride aboard the Big Bus, departing Hidden Valley at 5:40pm, while dozens of Supercars prime movers roll through Palmerston. The convoy will stop at Goyder Square for a Welcome to Country by Larrakia Nation at 6:05pm. Fans can line the parade route or head to Goyder Square from 4:30pm to enjoy food trucks, a merchandise stall, family-friendly entertainment and live music.

The popular Track to Town event, an Australian-first in 2024, returns on Thursday 19 June with festivities beginning at the Esplanade from 4:00pm. All 25 Championship Supercars will parade through the Darwin CBD before parking on the Esplanade, between Herbert Street and Knuckey Street. This free family-friendly event offers a unique opportunity to get up close to cars featuring stunning Indigenous art, meet drivers at a signing session (5:00pm -6:00pm), and enjoy music, food trucks, a merchandise stall and Classic Holden Car Club display.

Racing starts this Friday, 20 June, with the 2025 Supercars program debuting an exhilarating new Super440 format, delivering a high-octane weekend of racing with two 120km sprint races on Saturday and a 200km refuelling race on Sunday, totalling a thrilling 440km of racing.

The coveted Triple Crown is set to be fiercely contested this year, with the round champion crowned based on the most points accumulated across the weekend, ensuring intense competition. Top-tier support categories also return, including Porsche Carrera Cup, Touring Car Masters, and Combined Sedans, alongside the highly anticipated Darwin debut of the Trico Trans Am Series, featuring V8-powered Mustangs, Camaros, and Challengers roaring around Hidden Valley.

Beyond the racing, the event continues its strong commitment to community and youth. Now in its fourth year, Racing Together, an initiative that helps Indigenous youth pursue a career in motorsports, will field its Hyundai Excels with drivers Kade Davey and Karlai Warner in the Combined Sedans support category. The popular Students on Track program, supported by Northern Territory Major Events Company, also returns on Friday, 20 June. New this year, the Sports Precinct will host skills sessions with Tennis NT, AFLNT, NRL NT, Cricket NT, and Touch Football NT, providing diverse engagement opportunities for students.

For food lovers, the ‘Flavours of the Territory’ will make its debut in ‘the Valley Infield’, bringing together local chefs, food vendors, and beverage producers to offer a diverse array of dishes that highlight the unique ingredients and culinary traditions of the Top End, including Snapper Rocks, Hot Tamale, Fat Tuna, Moorish Café, Little Bustard Town and Kopi Stop.

The all-new ‘Willing’s on Track’ offers a premium hospitality suite in ‘The Valley Infield’, boasting a dedicated gin bar and front-row views of the racing and the return of live music on Saturday and Sunday.
