Brodie Kostecki has been cleared by on-site medical staff after his major Gold Coast qualifying crash, with Dick Johnson Racing's season-defining repair efforts now underway.
Kostecki crashed out of Boost Mobile Qualifying on Saturday, with the 2023 Supercars champion slamming the barriers at the front chicane.
The #38 Shell V-Power Ford sustained significant front end damage in the incident, with four photographers in a stable condition.
With Kostecki medically clear to compete, the race is now on for DJR to get the car on track for Sunday’s race, with the impact registering 19g.
At the time of publication, the #38 Mustang has been taken off-site for repairs by DJR and chassis builder PACE Innovations.
Kostecki will not take part in Saturday's race, and is set to drop to 10th in the Repco Supercars Finals Series points.
"A big one for the #38 Shell V-Power Mustang," DJR confirmed.
"Brodie has been given the all clear by the medical crew at the circuit and now we will assess the damage with our hard working crew going to work to get the car.
"We sincerely hope the photographers and spectators are ok and we’ve been in constant contact with Supercars to follow up on their well being."
Race 28 of the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship will begin at 3:15pm local time/4:15pm AEDT.
