Broc Feeney labels Darwin romp as best weekend of career
Championship leader won all three races from pole position
Feeney leads Will Brown by 183 points heading to Townsville
Broc Feeney has labelled his Darwin romp as the best weekend of his Supercars career, with the championship leader winning all three races from pole position.
Now 19th all-time on the all-time winners list, Feeney was peerless at Hidden Valley, topping qualifying, the two Saturday sprints, and the 200km Sunday race.
In what is proving a highly competitive era in Supercars history, in one of the most competitive seasons on record, Feeney had a clear edge all weekend at the Top End.
In one weekend, Feeney put 111 points on teammate Will Brown, who later admitted he is looking forward to a reset after falling 183 points behind the #88.
Feeney had serious form in Darwin heading into the weekend, and rammed it home. He now has seven wins in his last nine starts, eight for the season, and nine poles.
In Tasmania, Feeney won the first two races and fell 0.05s short of a sweep, and claimed it as his best weekend.
When asked on Supercars’ Cool Down Lap if Darwin was his new best, he said: "Yeah, it definitely is the best I've had just from an overall perspective.
“To be honest, obviously come here with the expectation and I nearly added extra pressure on myself to try and get it done this weekend.
"We sort of did it last year but didn't get classified as the Triple Crown winner. But, Friday, to be honest, wasn't smooth. It was probably the most unhappy I've been in quite a while. It just didn't feel like it really went to plan, but it was still fast.
“To get three poles and three wins, they don't always go as well as they did this weekend. It's really high on my list of what I wanted to achieve the Triple Crown just because how hard it is to win.
"So, feel very special to add my name to that list."
In eight Gen3 races in Darwin, Feeney has six wins, a second, and a third.
"I need to get a photo when I get back to the workshop, because I don't think I've been off the podium in Gen3 here,” Feeney. said
“Super special. It's so cool to see what we've achieved this weekend and it feels pretty surreal at the time, but not every weekend goes as smooth as this, so I’ll certainly take it in.”
The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship resumes at the NTI Townsville 500 on July 11-13. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
