Blanchard Racing Team announces Bailey Sweeny deal
Sweeny to drive Ford Mustang raced by Jack Perkins last year
Rising star made Super3 debut in Bathurst last October
Bailey Sweeny has secured a full Super2 Series campaign with the Blanchard Racing Team in 2025, the team has announced.
Sweeny, a multiple state and national karting winner, impressed in the 2021 Toyota 86 Series and finished third in the 2023 TCR Australia season.
The rising star is set on chasing a career in Supercars, and made his Super3 debut at last year's Repco Bathurst 1000 last year.
The 22-year-old will drive the BRT Ford Mustang that was carried to wins in Townsville and Sandown by Jack Perkins last year.
BRT first gave Aaron Love a full season in 2023, which was the springboard into a main game seat for the West Aussie driver. Love returns for a second season in 2025 alongside James Courtney.
"Bailey represents exactly the kind of young talent we strive to support here at BRT,” BRT Team Principal Tim Blanchard said.
“His track record speaks volumes, and his ambition aligns perfectly with BRT’s focus of growth and development."
Team Manager Kate Harrington added: "Bailey joining our team represents more than just expanding our driver line-up, it's a reflection of our dedication to advancing careers and ensuring our crew has ample chances to succeed and climb the ranks in motorsport while we participate as a full-time contender in the Super2 series.
Sweeny said the Super2 drive marks a "monumental" moment in his career, saying: "I’m thrilled to join BRT to contest the Super2 Series full-time in 2025.
"This is a monumental step in my career, one that brings me closer to my dream of competing in Supercars as a main game driver.
"Thanks to Tim, Kate and the entire team for their faith in providing me with such a massive opportunity. I look forward to hitting the ground running at Sydney and showing what I can do behind the wheel of a Supercar."
Sweeny will make his Super2 debut in at the season-opening Thrifty Sydney 500 on February 21-23.
