Randle wins Brock Medal, team owners honoured
Thomas Randle and a number of Supercars team owners have been honoured at the Motorsport Australia National Awards.
The Motorsport Australia National Awards presented by Shannons Insurance gala dinner took place for the first time since 2020.
National champions were celebrated, such as Supercars champion Shane van Gisbergen and first-time ARC champion Lewis Bates.
Tickford driver Randle was named the 2022 Peter Brock Medallist, with young rally star Taylor Gill crowned the Young Driver of the Year.
Awarded by Motorsport Australia since 2011, the Brock Medal 'recognises outstanding driver ability and commitment to the positive endorsement of motorsport within the greater community'.
The Medal is supported by the family of the late nine-time Bathurst victor, and past winners include Brock’s protege Craig Lowndes, Jim Richards, Mark Webber and Anton De Pasquale.

Randle notably defied a battle with cancer to rise to the main game, and also won the 2020 Super2 title.
He returns for a second season in Supercars, having debuted as a full-time driver last year.
"Absolutely honoured to have received the Peter Brock Medal at the Motorsport Australia Annual Awards last night,” Randle said.
"Very special to have been presented the medal by Robert Brock as well.
"Peter was a true icon of motorsport in Australia, and to be added to the list of recipients of this award is truly humbling."
Brad and Kim Jones were given one of Motorsport Australia’s highest honours, the Membership of Honour.
Life Memberships were also awarded to Dr Ryan Story and Roland Dane.
In the last two years, Story and Dane have stepped down from their respective roles at Dick Johnson Racing and Triple Eight, but remain a constant in the Supercars paddock.
Last year, Story was recognised for his significant service to motorsport and the community in the Queen’s Birthday Honour List.
