Mustang Supercar features at iconic Goodwood festival
A Scott McLaughlin-liveried Ford Mustang Supercar took to the track at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Ford CEO Jim Farley drove the car up the famous hillclimb last weekend in the iconic Shell V-Power Racing Team colours McLaughlin campaigned to three straight titles.
The Mustang Supercar wasn't the only Australian racing beast to feature at the festival.
An ex-Ford Performance Racing Falcon BA and Walkinshaw Racing-built Holden Commodore VE were also on hand.
Farley drove the ex-Dick Johnson Racing car, DJR FG19, in celebration of Roger Penske.
Penske, who co-owned Johnson's eponymous team between 2014 and 2020, was honoured at the event for his contribution to motorsport.
DJR FG19 was shipped to Team Penske's headquarters in the United States in 2015.
It was later updated to Mustang bodywork for display and show purposes in 2019, the year McLaughlin won a record 18 races.
It didn't compete against the clock at Goodwood; the Garth Tander, Holden Racing Team-liveried Commodore did, however.
The Glenn Seton-liveried FPR Falcon was a static display at the event, and is owned by Prodrive.
Seton raced the car in 2003 and 2004, and was purchased by Prodrive in 2019.
The 2021 Repco Supercars Championship will continue at this weekend’s WD-40 Townsville SuperSprint. Tickets are available here.
The event will be broadcast live on Foxtel and will be streamed on Kayo.
