In a first for Tasmanian motorsport fans, Supercars are set to roar on the streets of Hobart in mid-August, when the championship arrives for the NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint.

From 3:00pm to 6:00pm on Wednesday August 14, Supercars will host a street party at Hobart’s Princes Wharf No. 1, featuring several of the cars and stars of the Repco Supercars Championship.

The free public event is proudly supported by the Tasmanian Government, and will allow fans to get up close with Gen3 Supercars, their team transporters, Supercars official vehicles, and some of their favourite Supercars drivers.

Former champions Mark Winterbottom and James Courtney, two-time Bathurst 1000 winner Chaz Mostert, and Supercars rookie Ryan Wood and Aaron Love are set to attend. The quintet are also earmarked to drive their Supercars into the event.

Drivers will be available for signings and Q&As, with fan activations and giveaways set to be part of the action.

Supercars Chief Operating Officer Tim Watsford said: "We are incredibly excited to bring Supercars to Hobart for the very first time.

“This activation, made possible through the support of the Tasmania Government, is a fantastic opportunity for fans to get a taste of the action up close. It's a great way for us to give back to the community.

“We can't wait to see the excitement on the faces of fans, and we hope this event will encourage everyone to join us at Symmons Plains over August 16-18 for the NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint."

Supercars’ street party at Hobart’s Princes Wharf begins from 3:00pm on Wednesday August 14, with drivers set to take the stage from 4:00pm.

Following the event in Hobart, the Repco Supercars Championship will head north to race at Launceston’s Symmons Plains Raceway from August 16-18 at the NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint.

Tickets to Tasmania’s largest annual sporting event can be purchased via Supercars.com.
