Chaz Mostert extends unusual record with Townsville double
Mostert has made a habit of collecting trophies from North Queensland
Mostert has accumulated 11 Townsville podiums from the past 22 races
Chaz Mostert’s relationship with Townsville’s Reid Park Street Circuit puts him in an unusual place in the ATCC/Supercars Championship record books.
Mostert has made a habit of collecting trophies – or belt buckles – from North Queensland over the course of the past six years.
After failing to finish top three in any of his first 13 starts in Townsville, Mostert has accumulated 11 podiums from the past 22 races there (2019-25) for an enviable 50 percent strike rate.
What’s unique, however, is that none have involved him climbing up onto the top step of the rostrum.
Making up those 11 career Townsville podiums have been three runner-up finishes and eight thirds.
That makes Mostert the record-holder when it comes to the most ATCC/SC podiums at a particular circuit without a win.
And it’s not even close.
Next on the list, at seven, is Will Davison at Darwin and… Mostert at The Bend.
Mostert also features on the next rung on the ladder, thanks to his six winless podiums at Pukekohe.
For what it’s worth, Mostert’s 2025 trip to Townsville netted a return of sixth, second and third to tighten his grip on fifth in the drivers’ standings.
