Supercars officials have been honoured for their hard work and dedication to the 2021 Repco Supercars Championship at an awards ceremony in Bathurst.

The annual Volunteers Awards were presented on Wednesday during the officials ‘Party in the Pits’ function at Mount Panorama.

More than 300 Supercars officials and volunteers gathered for the social event, with Supercars drivers joining to mingle with the crowd.

A barbecue dinner, drinks and music started the evening, before an awards presentation hosted by Supercars CEO Sean Seamer and Executive General Manager of Repco Wayne Bryant.

The volunteer awards returned after a one-year absence, being initially introduced in 1999.

Race Official Volunteer of the Year was awarded to Mark Moore, who consistently went above expectations in various roles and created a positive working environment for all.

Event Official Volunteer of the Year was awarded to Darryl Zeller for his enthusiasm and dedication to Supercars events, and travelling across the country to volunteer.

Walkinshaw Andretti United co-driver Warren Luff attended the event and recognised the efforts of the over 300 officials and volunteers.

"It's great to see the turnout of the volunteers this afternoon because literally without them, we couldn't do what we do," Luff told Supercars.com.

"They're a huge part of the sport, and they really are sort of the people that are behind the scenes that don't really get the praise that they deserve.

"It's great to be able to put this barbecue on, have them all come and meet the drivers, spend a bit of time, shake their hands, sign some posters and give back a bit of the love that they so richly deserve."

Tickford Racing co-driver Thomas Randle added: "We wouldn't be able to race without officials and volunteers.

"They keep us safe on the track, and it's just a true testament to their passion for not only for Supercars, but for motorsport in general.

"I was fortunate enough at the beginning of my racing career to do a day flagging at Sandown and their passion is on another level.

"So just I've got to thank all the men and women that come out here and take it in their stride, and help us out on track."
