SUPERCHEAPAuto Racing has taken the covers of their 2013 V8 Supercars Championshipchallenger today.

In a uniquewarehouse-based launch where the car was ‘delivered’ to driver Russell Ingalland watching Supercheap Auto staff, the long-time V8 sponsor showcased their VFCommodore that the former champion hopes returns him to the top of thestandings.

In SupercheapAuto’s 16th year of involvement with V8 Supercars, the unique launchsaw an Altona distribution centre staff receiving an order for a complete raceteam and culminated in Ingall requesting an ‘amazing car’ – that was thendriven in to the warehouse.

“Thedesigners of both the car and livery have got it dead right,” Ingall said.

“TheVF Commodore is a great shape to work with as a race car.

“Itreally ticks all the boxes – it’s the best looking car I’ve seen since Istarted racing in the category in 1996.”

Ingallconfirmed late last year that he would ‘go around again’ for another season, and has earmarked the Car of The Future as a key factor in his commitment tothe sport.

Ingallremains one of V8 Supercars biggest and most popular names and a series ofstrong results in the second half of 2012 showed fans he still has what ittakes to compete at the front.

“Beingcompletely new and different from the way V8s have always been built, COTF isquite a departure from the norm,” Ingall said.

“BecauseI spent the early years of my career jumping between different categories, Ibelieve I’ll be able to adapt to the new car quite quickly.”

“I’mnot going into this season thinking about my last year, I’m just going into itas another year of racing. I’m probably more determined this year because ofopportunities with new car.

“IfI can come out of the first three rounds with a good bundle of points, I thinkI’ll be able to have one of the best years I’ve had for a long time.

TheSupercheap Auto VF was designed by the same Holden Design staff that penned thestunning Holden Racing Team cars unveiled recently; Ingalls’s Walkinshaw Racingentry prepared out of the same garage as has been the case for several seasons.

“Walkinshaw Racing is probably the best prepared outof all the teams in having three cars totally prepared and tested before thestart of the season,” Ingall said.

“This will be a huge advantage in knowing what makesthe car work and what the vulnerabilities are.”

The newlivery features a more black and red than previous, predominantly yellow, liveries.
