Seiko, one of the world's leading brands in watchmaking is partnering with Supercars in 2021.

Seiko first supported Supercars in 2013 with the Shannon's Supercar Showdown and returns to the Repco Supercars Championship this year.

The past eight years has seen the Seiko family involved as the official watch partner of the series with stablemate Pulsar.

As part of the partnership, the instantly recognisable Seiko 5 Watch Tower will be placed at pit lane exit and the company expects to announce further Supercars activities as the season progresses.

"Seiko has been a supporter of some of the world's biggest sporting events and occasions and we are excited to be joining one of the leading categories of global motorsport," said Yuki Suganuma – Managing Director Seiko Australia.

"This year sees the step up to Seiko and in particular, the Seiko 5 Sports collection.

"We are excited to bring Seiko 5 to the world of Supercars. Reliability, durability and performance are critical in both the world of Supercars and in every Seiko 5 Sports timepiece.

"Our partnership with Supercars combined with Irwin Racing will allows us to activate across Australia and New Zealand and gets us out to see many of the passionate and committed fans."

For over 50 years, Seiko 5 Sports has delivered consistently high levels of reliability, durability, performance and value that have endeared it to lovers of mechanical watches worldwide.

The first ever Seiko 5 watch, Seiko Sportmatic 5, was born in 1963. It was Seiko's and Japan's first ever automatic day-date watch. Today, with the creation of a new design and a broad new collection, this much loved timepiece is re-born into a collection with all the same values but a fresh new look.

The Seiko 5 Watch Tower will be in pit lane at this weekend's opening event of the 2021 Repco Supercars Championship, the Repco Mt Panorama 500. Tickets are available through Ticketek.
