Five lucky young karters are set to meet their hometown hero Bryce Fullwood at the Merlin Darwin Triple Crown, winning an exclusive tour of the Walkinshaw Andretti United garage.

More than 15 racers from the Darwin Karting Association entered the competition for the unique opportunity, with the winners being drawn at random on Sunday.

The junior karters aged between 7 to 15 years old will visit the WAU team garage at Hidden Valley on Saturday, accompanied by the parents for the personal tour.

Giving back to his childhood karting association, Fullwood organised the competition for local hopefuls to experience life as a professional driver.

Darwin Karting Association Secretary Rebecca Ralph said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for these kids.

“They grow up watching Supercars, so this really is a dream come true for them.

“Bryce has been such a massive supporter of DKA and he is willing to continually give back to our club which is where he started."

Hoping to walk in 23-year-old’s footsteps, the winners compete at the same track Fullwood did throughout his formative years and all hail from motorsport families.

“It’s important to give these kids a look at racing is a team sport, Bryce does rely on so many people to keep his car in top shape,” Ralph told Supercars.com.

“We drew the names out of a hat at the club on Sunday, the kids were all really excited and full of big smiles.

“One of the winners Sonny has two brothers who race, and his mum used to race, they are a real family involved motorsport.

“Another one of the winners Colby has five siblings, four who are all racing, as well as cousins who compete.

“He’s one of the youngest in the family, and pretty much has grown up at the racetrack.

“We like to promote ourselves as a family-friendly sport and we know go-kart racing is widely seen as the entry to a motorsport career.

“This is totally the doing of Bryce Fullwood racing, and we were supremely happy to accept the generosity and opportunity for our drivers to participate.”

The Repco Supercars Championship field will return to the Northern Territory for the Merlin Darwin Triple Crown across June 18-20. Tickets are available here.

The event will be broadcast live on Foxtel and will be streamed on Kayo, and will be broadcast live and free on Seven.
