Nick Percat says he is keen to end his tenure with Brad Jones Racing with a strong result at this year’s Repco Bathurst 1000.

Percat will arrive at Mount Panorama seventh in the standings, 56 points ahead of Erebus Motorsport rookie Will Brown.

The 33-year-old had a strong run at Sydney Motorsport Park, scoring his 13th career podium in Race 21.

The #8 R&J Batteries Commodore was set to launch from pole for the Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight finale on Sunday before rain intervened.

Percat, who won the 2011 Bathurst 1000 on debut with Garth Tander, will move to Walkinshaw Andretti United for the 2022 season.

The South Australian has claimed two wins for BJR since joining the squad in 2017, but a Great Race victory has remained elusive.

His best Bathurst 1000 result for the Albury-based team remains seventh alongside Macauley Jones in 2018.

Percat, who will be joined by Dale Wood in December’s Great Race, said he feels the team is owed a good result at the Mountain.

“It's literally like Christmas for us as drivers, it’s the most exciting race of the year,” Percat told Supercars.com.

“It would be nice to sign off on a positive with Brad and the team, I feel like we're owed a result at Bathurst.

“Over the last few years, we've had our annoying power steering issues there, I think two or three times in a row, so this year, I’m hoping it will be a better run.”

To date, BJR has recorded three podium results at Mount Panorama.

The last time a BJR entry claimed a Bathurst podium was in 2009 when Cameron McConville and the late Jason Richards finished second to Tander and Will Davison.

For Percat, his focus remains on delivering a result for BJR.

“It would be nice when I pull the helmet off on Sunday, after the race, to know that we've had a solid day and given 100 per cent,” Percat continued.

“Ideally, we come away with a very good result and stand on the podium.

“But for me personally, I just want to have a trouble-free weekend, have a solid Sunday, and see where we land.”

The week-long Repco Bathurst 1000 will also feature the Dunlop Series, Porsche Carrera Cup, Toyota Gazoo Racing 86 Series, Touring Car Racing, Touring Car Masters, S5000, GTWCA, SuperUtes and TransAm.

Grandstand tickets are available for the event, with campsites also on sale.

The 2021 Repco Supercars Championship and Dunlop Series seasons will conclude at the Repco Bathurst 1000.

The Great Race will be screened to millions of fans around the world through Foxtel, Kayo and the Seven Network. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
