An eleventh hour recruitment of Chris Pither has seen the new-look PremiAir Racing finalise the 2022 Repco Supercars Championship grid.

It was confirmed Thursday that Pither will replace Fabian Coulthard at the squad formerly known as Team Sydney.

Pither returns to a full-time seat at the expense of Coulthard, who looms as a key figure in the co-driver market.

It means that of the 25 cars on the 2022 grid, 15 feature the same driver versus 2021.

Only the Shell V-Power Racing Team, Team 18, Erebus Motorsport and Blanchard Racing Team will head into 2022 unchanged.

The Pither name will be back on the grid in 2022

Prior to the Team Sydney sale, the 2022 was thought to be completed, with Coulthard and Garry Jacobson still under contract at Team Sydney.

However, while Jacobson kept his drive, Coulthard is now able to assess his options.

So what else has changed?

Heavyweight teams Red Bull Ampol Racing, Tickford Racing and Walkinshaw Andretti United have all changed at least one seat.

Brad Jones Racing has changed two, as has Matt Stone Racing, with Grove Racing changing one.

Broc Feeney has replaced the retired Jamie Whincup at Triple Eight Race Engineering.

Tickford welcomes Thomas Randle and Jake Kostecki, with Nick Percat returning to the Walkinshaw fold.

Andre Heimgartner and Bryce Fullwood arrive at BJR from Grove Racing and WAU respectively.

Holdsworth returns with Grove Racing

Heimgartner and Fullwood will race alongside BJR incumbents Jack Smith and Macauley Jones.

Grove Racing replaced Heimgartner with Bathurst winner Lee Holdsworth, who returns after a year in the full-time wilderness.

That leaves MSR, which enters 2022 with the all-new line-up of Jack Le Brocq and Todd Hazelwood.

Le Brocq and Hazelwood departed Tickford and BJR respectively.

The new-look grid will make its first all-in appearance at the Repco Newcastle 500 in March. Tickets for the event are on sale now.

The 13-round draft calendar was released during the Repco Bathurst 1000 weekend.
