Proud South Australian-born Scott Pye will sport bp Ultimate colours for his home event at this weekend’s OTR SuperSprint.

Team 18 veteran Pye will carry bp Ultimate branding on his #20 Chevrolet Camaro at The Bend.

Pye’s #20 Camaro has previously featured major backing from Hino, Resimax, East Coast Car Rentals and Toyota Forklifts.

The new-look #20 Supercar was unveiled on Thursday at The D’Arenberg Cube, a five-story cube-shaped building at the D’Arenberg Winery in Adelaide’s McLaren Vale wine region.

The major backer of the car, bp Ultimate, is also the official fuel supplier of the Repco Supercars Championship.

The partnership comes in a season bp introduced its bp E75 Racing Fuel, a lower carbon* fuel that incorporates over 80 per cent second-generation components sourced from renewable feedstocks.

The livery is inspired by the colours of bp, and the colour scheme that is also carried by the bp Ultimate Safety Car in the Repco Supercars Championship.

The colours also featured in the Supercars ESeries.

The bp Ultimate Racing livery was brought to life by graphic designer Nick Moss, paint partner PPG and Official Signage Partner Ball & Doggett.

The Pye look is one of two special liveries for the OTR SuperSprint, alongside Macauley Jones' Pizza Hut movie-themed look.

"Having grown up in South Australia, racing at The Bend holds a special place in my heart, and to have bp Ultimate join me on home turf is a dream come true,” Pye said.

“bp have been with me for four years now, we’ve been part of some exciting projects together and to see them step up as major backer on my car is really special.

"The bp Ultimate Camaro looks sensational and it will be an honour to represent them on track at The Bend.

"The Bend is known as one of the most challenging circuits on the calendar, and with the reduction in aero with the Gen 3 cars it will be an even tougher challenge this year.

"I’m excited to get there and see what our cars are like and we’ll aim to do adapt as quick as we can with the short, sharp format.”

Amanda Woollard, VP – Marketing, AsPac, BP, said: “It’s fantastic to combine two of bp’s great commitments — South Australia and Supercars this weekend, especially with a local driver, Scott Pye, on board.

“bp is committed to providing the best fuels and offers to South Australia, and as the official fuel supplier to the Repco Supercars Championship, we’re really excited to be showing how we’re there for our partners and customers, on the track and off.”

Charlie Schwerkolt, Team 18 owner, added: "We are absolutely thrilled to announce that one of our longstanding partners in BP Ultimate have stepped up as major backers for Scott Pye's Camaro at the upcoming OTR SuperSprint at The Bend.

“This partnership represents the culmination of years of collaboration and synergy between bp, Team 18 and the Waverley Forklifts Group.

“With their pioneering efforts in introducing the lower carbon bp E75 Racing Fuel to Supercars, bp continues to demonstrate their ability to push the boundaries of fuel technology and sustainability in racing."

“We look forward to bp hitting the track with Scott and we’ll be sure to put our best foot forward for a successful weekend at The Bend.”

Supercars will hit the track at the OTR SuperSprint on Saturday.
