Track schedule released for 2025 NTI Townsville 500
Townsville to host Supercars races on all three days for first time
Friday’s action to include a 100km Supercars sprint race
North Queensland’s biggest annual sporting event is going next level in 2025, with the NTI Townsville 500 set to deliver an unprecedented fusion of motorsport, extreme sports, and live entertainment across three jam-packed days at Reid Park.
For the first time in the event’s 17-year history, the Repco Supercars Championship will race across all three days, with Friday’s action to include a 100km sprint race – marking a historic milestone for Supercars in Townsville.
Supercars CEO Shane Howard said: “We are proud to unveil our most expansive entertainment schedule ever for Townsville.
“For the first time, fans will see Supercars race on all three days, with Friday’s 100km sprint race kicking off what will be a massive weekend of action on and off the track.
“From bull riding to burnouts, show cars to street machines, and a full-throttle motorsport program, this will be a celebration of speed, horsepower and entertainment like never before.
“This is the ultimate expression of what Supercars is all about — world-class racing, non-stop entertainment and unforgettable experiences for fans of all ages.”
The event will also serve as the penultimate round of the Repco Sprint Cup, with vital points on the line before a Sprint Champion is crowned and locks in the first guaranteed place in the inaugural Repco Supercars Championship Finals Series.
In a global first, Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Australia will bring its renowned, high-adrenaline format to the heart of the Supercars precinct with the first-ever Australia vs New Zealand PBR showdown.
The Friday night spectacle will see elite riders from both countries go head-to-head in front of a roaring crowd, with the bullring set up behind the Supercars paddock and access included for all same-day ticket holders.
The event will also play host to Summernats Goes Troppo, an unmissable daily showcase of burnouts, drift cars, dyno runs, and elite show vehicles, led by more than 20 purpose-built burnout beasts and drift stars including Leteisha Chun Tie and Mercurial Mouse.
MotorEx Alley brings the country’s biggest car culture expo to North Queensland for the first time, with the Horsepower Hero dyno show, live Flying Spanners engine build battles, signing sessions, expert panels and special guest builds including Cam Waters’ XB Falcon and Joe Bauer’s 3000hp Dodge Charger.
Street Machine Magazine will stage one of its most high-profile show and shine displays, packed with the toughest Aussie street cars on the scene.
Fresh off a sold-out national tour, 2024 Australian Idol winner Dylan Wright will headline the NTI Townsville 500’s live music program, performing hits from his #1 country EP.
All same-day ticket holders will be able to access the entire Reid Park precinct, including:
PBR Australia Bull Riding Arena
Summernats Skid Pad and MotorEx Alley
Live music stage, signing sessions, and freestyle motocross (FMX) shows
Australian Defence Force (ADF) armoured vehicle display including tanks and Bushmasters
Side Show Alley with carnival rides, dodgem cars, and Ferris wheel
Sponsor activations from Monster Energy, Toyota, NTI, and more
Support categories confirmed include the Dunlop Super2 Series, Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia GR Cup, Porsche Sprint Challenge Australia, and V8 SuperUtes.
The 2025 NTI Townsville 500 is expected to inject close to $53 million into the local economy and draw over 33,000 visitors into the city across three days.
The NTI Townsville 500 is supported by the Queensland Government, through Tourism and Events Queensland’s Major Events Program, and Townsville City Council, through Townsville Enterprise.
