Three new numbers come in for 2026 Supercars season
Three numbers used in 2025 season won't return this year
Mostert to run #1, Kostecki to run #17, Brown assumes #888
When the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship gets underway at Sydney Motorsport Park, there will be new drivers, new liveries, new cars and new numbers.
A new reigning champion takes the #1, Dick Johnson Racing's #17 has ended up in new hands, while the iconic #888 returns at the hands of a former champion.
Ahead of the 2026 season, Supercars.com breaks down the car numbers to look out for.
What's moved

The champion's #1 shifts from Will Brown to Chaz Mostert in 2026. Mostert will run the number on his new Walkinshaw TWG Racing Toyota GR Supra.
The #1 is one of eight numbers which have changed hands.
Matt Stone Racing's #4 and #10 jump from Cameron Hill to Jack Le Brocq, and Nick Percat to rookie Zach Bates respectively. Hill, meanwhile, arrives at Brad Jones Racing and takes the #14 from the departed Bryce Fullwood.
There is one new number at PremiAir Racing, but two new drivers. The #31 remains with PremiAir Racing, but moves from Blanchard Racing Team-bound James Golding to rookie Jayden Ojeda.
Golding takes over the #7 from the retired James Courtney, while Le Brocq's exit from Erebus Motorsport has opened the door for rookie Jobe Stewart to take the #9.
At DJR, meanwhile, the feared and revered #17 has landed in the lap of Brodie Kostecki, after five seasons on the window of Will Davison Fords. Kostecki's #38 is now with rookie Rylan Gray.
What's in

Three numbers arrive in 2026: #11, #777 and #888.
SCT Motorsport rookie Jackson Walls will race with the #11 on his Objective Ford Mustang. The #11, made famous by Larry Perkins, was last used by Anton De Pasquale and DJR between 2021 and 2024. Walls, though, has used the #11 through the ranks, notably in Super2 and Carrera Cup, winning races in both categories.
Fraser brings the #777 to PremiAir Racing. The Queenslander used the number through the ranks, notably winning the 2022 DUNLOP Super2 Series title with the #777 on the window.
The big change comes at Triple Eight Race Engineering, which welcomes the #888 to full-time competition for the first time since Craig Lowndes retired in 2018. Brown will run the famous number, which was raced to six Bathurst wins by Lowndes between 2006 and 2018.
What's out

Mostert's decision to run the #1 means the #25 has been sidelined. Mostert joined the Walkinshaw team in 2020, and had used the #25 in all races up until his crowning moment last November in Adelaide.
SCT Motorsport's move from Brad Jones Racing to Triple Eight comes with a number change, with the #11 replacing the #12 used by Jaxon Evans in 2024 and 2025.
Then, there's the disappearance of Richie Stanaway's #62, which he used at PremiAir Racing last season. As mentioned above, the #777 will be used by Fraser.
