2025 Repco Bathurst 1000 broadcast wins national award
2025 race broadcast recognised by Australian Sport Commission (ASC)
Matt Payne/Garth Tander won dramatic 2025 race
The 2025 Repco Bathurst 1000 broadcast has been recognised by the Australian Sport Commission (ASC).
Hailed as one of the greatest Supercars races ever, Seven’s coverage of the 2025 Repco Bathurst 1000 won at the 2026 ASC Media Awards overnight.
The 2025 Repco Bathurst 1000 was held in treacherous conditions, with Matt Payne and Garth Tander delivering a stunning victory for Penrite Racing and Ford.
The race claimed the biggest audience for the Bathurst 1000 since 2016 and a record Supercars audience on 7plus Sport, with the broadcast reaching more than 5.9 million Australians live and free on Seven and 7plus Sport.
Last year, the ASC revealed that the broadcast has been nominated as a finalist in the 'Best coverage of a sporting event' category.
It defeated the Nine Network's NRLW and NRL Grand Final coverage, SBS' Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes coverage, and BigVoice Media Group/SBS' Australian Surf Life Saving Championships broadcast.
Across the live race broadcast, the total television audience for the 2025 event averaged more than two million viewers nationally (over seven hours of the race) — with 1.544 million on Seven Network and a further 459,000 on Foxtel Group.
Streaming figures shattered all previous records, with Seven’s coverage on 7plus averaging 211,000 — more than double last year’s audience. 7plus recorded its biggest day outside of an Olympics or AFL Grand Final. Foxtel platforms also achieved their highest-ever Supercars streaming day on KAYO Sports.
The 2026 Repco Bathurst 1000 will be held on October 8-11.
