Cam Waters has soared to a seventh Boost Mobile Pole Position of the season, with Broc Feeney out-qualifying Will Brown for the all-important VAILO Adelaide 500 opener.

Waters sealed the Boost Mobile Pole Champion Award, with Tickford Racing teammate Thomas Randle completing an all-Ford front row.

Crucially, Feeney turned fourth in qualifying into third in the Shootout, with Brown slumping from provisional pole to fifth behind Penrite Racing driver Matt Payne.

Brown will share the front row with Blanchard Racing Team rookie Aaron Love, with Jaxon Evans, Bryce Fullwood, James Courtney and Macauley Jones rounding out the 10.

Waters was delighted to bring home another Pole Award, his second in three years.

"First of all a massive thank you to Boost Mobile for sponsoring the Pole Award through the year," said Waters, who clinched the $25,000 award in Surfers Paradise.

"It's added a little bit extra for the drivers going into qualifying, we all want pole, but a bit of extra cash on the line always helps.

Fullwood kicked off the Shootout with a 1:21.1403s, before Jones threw his lap away with a lock-up into the Turn 4 right-hander. Evans, in his first Supercars Shootout, then went ahead of both teammates with a 1:20.7647s.

Love survived a moment at Turn 7 to record a 1:20.7275s, before 2023 Adelaide winner Payne put breathing space on the field with a 1:20.1702s. Courtney had nothing in response, bowling wides at the Turn 9 hairpin and the final corner to clock a 1:21.3326s.

Under pressure, Feeney fired in a 1:20.1475s, which was edged to the tune of 0.066s by Randle. Waters, meanwhile, put 0.118s on his teammate with the only 1:19s lap of the Shootout, with Brown only fifth, 0.255s down.

The first 78-lap race of the weekend, Race 23, which will start at 3:20pm local time/3:50pm AEDT.
