100 days to go until penultimate Finals showdown at Sandown
Penrite Oil Sandown 500 to see Finals field slashed from seven drivers to four
Tickets on sale for November 14-16 event
There are just 100 days to go until the Repco Supercars Championship roars into Melbourne for the penultimate round of the season — the Penrite Oil Sandown 500, on November 14-16.
This year, Sandown will take centre stage in Supercars’ inaugural Repco Finals Series, with seven remaining title contenders heading to the iconic 'Home of Horsepower' to fight for a place in the Final Four.
With championship points reset to 4000 for all seven finalists post-Gold Coast, bonus points based on previous standings have reshaped the leaderboard — with the top driver now sitting on 4150 points and the seventh on 4048.
Under the Repco Finals Series format, any driver who wins a race at Sandown is automatically through to the Grand Final in Adelaide. After both races are run and won, the three lowest-ranked Finals drivers on points — unless they’ve claimed a Sandown victory — will be eliminated.
Only four drivers will move forward to battle for the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship in the bp Adelaide Supercars Grand Final.
Matt Gegg, the Penrite Oil Sandown 500 Event Manager, said: “Sandown is one of the most iconic circuits in Australian motorsport history, and it’s fitting that it plays such a crucial role in our first-ever Finals Series.
“With so much on the line, fans will witness some of the most intense racing we’ve ever seen at this venue.”
Toby Dymond, CEO of Penrite Oil Company, said: “As a proudly Australian family-owned brand, Penrite is honoured to have our name on an event with such deep motorsport heritage.
"The Finals Series format adds an exciting new layer of drama, and there’s no better place than Sandown — with its rich history and passionate fans — to deliver this kind of edge-of-your-seat action.
"As we head towards our 100-year celebration, it’s even more special to be a part of such a pivotal moment in the championship and look forward to seeing who rises to the occasion.”
Melbourne fans can expect a weekend full of action, not just from the title contenders, but also with a blockbuster support card featuring the grand finals of the Porsche Sprint Challenge, Toyota GR Cup, Touring Car Masters and the crowd-favourite V8 SuperUtes.
The Penrite Oil Sandown Round is set to be an unmissable celebration of horsepower, history and high-stakes championship drama.
