Penrite emerged as a powerhouse in 2025, winning a maiden Bathurst 1000 with Matt Payne and Garth Tander, and getting rookie Kai Allen all the way to the Grand Final.

Grove Racing will once again compete under the Penrite Racing banner, with Payne and Allen still forming the youngest driver line-up on the grid.

Despite that, both drivers have emerged as superstars of the championship in short time, with Payne in particular having a memorable campaign in 2025.

Payne picked up five wins through the season, highlighted by an emotional Jason Richards Memorial Trophy win in Taupō and a maiden Bathurst 1000 win alongside Garth Tander.

The Grove family first stepped into team ownership in 2021, buying into the Kelly family's team to form Kelly Grove Racing.

The team climbed from eighth to fifth in the teams' championship in 2022, taking to the podium eight times. In 2023, the Groves won races for the first time, David Reynolds scoring victory on the Gold Coast and Payne winning in Adelaide.

Since buying out Kelly Racing outright in 2022, the team have established a crew that brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to the track.

That crew included former Team Principal David Cauchi, who left the team at the end of the season, whilst Technical Director Grant McPherson has also proved pivotal.

In 2026, the team welcome former Ferrari Formula One Performance Engineer Riccardo Corte to serve as Allen's Race Engineer, whilst Tander also remains an important off-track figure having retired from driving after claiming his sixth Bathurst win.
