A pre-event media call in Perth has helped Supercars championship leader Will Brown reunite with former schoolmates and Western Force players.

Brown and Red Bull Ampol Racing teammate Broc Feeney dropped Western Force training ahead of this weekend’s Bosch Power Tools Perth SuperSprint.

There, Brown caught up with fellow Toowoomba products Angus Wagner, Harry Hoopert and Hamish Stewart, who are currently with the Perth-based Super Rugby team.

The Supercars drivers toured the Force facilities, and also took turns in taking drop goals in front of players and assembled media.

"Me and Angus were probably at each other's house from Grade 1 until Grade 7 when Angus moved off to Churchie to go play footy and I stayed in Toowoomba, but stayed great mates since then,” Brown told media.

“These guys moved over to Perth with the Western Force, and I've sort of stayed in contact with them since then but haven't caught up too much.

“So, it's cool to see them this weekend and hopefully they can come out and watch what I do.

"I didn't play footy, but every weekend I wasn't racing go karts, I was making sure I watched them. So, for four of us to make it and be doing this is really cool.”

The media call came just hours after Brown announced he will make a NASCAR Cup Series cameo at Sonoma Raceway on June 9, a week before the next round in Darwin.

"It's a massive announcement for me, looking back on my career. I never thought I'd be in the situation I'm in, even without the NASCAR," Brown said.

"To go racing for Red Bull Ampol Racing has been a massive opportunity, and this year's been a great start to the year. But to announce that I'm racing in NASCAR, a one-off race this year, is really cool.

"I didn't think I'd get that opportunity."

Tickets for the Bosch Power Tools Perth SuperSprint are on sale now. Track action will commence on Friday. International viewers can follow all the action on Superview.
