The RABBLE.club Sandown 500 marks 15 years since Triple Eight ventured down under, and into Supercars.

Now the most-successful team in the championship's history, Roland Dane's outfit has set the standard for the last decade in particular.

Its haul of eight drivers' and teams' titles and six Bathurst wins has been built with both Fords and Holdens, and several generations of models.

To mark the milestone, Supercars.com asks you – what is Triple Eight’s greatest Supercars model?

Ford Falcon BA: 2003-06Races: 99         Wins: 12

The BAs Triple Eight inherited from Briggs Motorsport in 2003 were midfielders at best, and Ludo Lacroix’s first in-house designs that followed were fragile.

But by the end of 2006, the Triple Eight BA was good enough to take the most famous Bathurst victory of the modern era and miss out on the title by the narrowest of margins.

Ford Falcon BF: 2007 and '08Races: 74         Wins: 25

A small aerodynamic upgrade from the BA, the BF model achieved the perfect score of two Bathursts from two attempts, and took Jamie Whincup to his first crown in 2008.

In the BF era, Triple Eight also began to spread its wings with customers – Dick Johnson Racing returning to the top step of the podium using T8 suspension.

Ford Falcon FG: 2009Races: 28         Wins: 15


The FG was the first completely-new model homologated with Triple Eight’s input, but the team's cars ultimately raced without Ford badging after the manufacturer withdraw support.

Whincup won the title in Triple Eight’s single season with the FG, but the car proved so good it beat the first T8 Holden the following year in the hands of DJR and James Courtney.

Holden Commodore VE: 2010-12Races: 84         Wins: 46

Triple Eight’s first Holden debuted with a sensational victory in Abu Dhabi, before going on to score a famous one-two at Bathurst in the same year.

Whincup narrowly missed out on the 2010 title, but wrote that wrong with the next two championships, and a Bathurst victory in ’12, which remains his most recent Great Race triumph.

Holden Commodore VF: 2013-17Races: 165       Wins: 65

The longest-serving Triple Eight model, the VF dominates the race win stats, while also boasting the 2013, ’14, ’16 and ’17 titles – only missing out to the FG X in '15.

Bathurst, though, provided mixed results for Triple Eight's VFs, with just one win for the team, scored in 2015, followed by success for customer outfit Tekno Autosporsts the following year.

Holden Commodore ZB: 2018Races: 23         Wins: 11

The first car homologated under Triple Eight’s new status as Holden’s factory squad, the ZB is also the first hatchback Supercar, based off the new, all-imported road car.

It dominated on debut in Adelaide, causing a stir over composite panels in the process, and currently leads the standings with Shane van Gisbergen.
