Leading rental car service Thrifty is set to take the driver's seat as the naming rights partner of the 2024 Bathurst 500, the opening event of the upcoming Repco Supercars Championship season.

Supercars can concurrently announce that tickets to the 2024 Thrifty Bathurst 500, taking place February 23-25, are now on sale.

Serving as the official car rental partner of the Repco Supercars Championship, Thrifty will serve as the naming rights partner of the season’s first event for the second consecutive year, as the championship kicks off its 2024 campaign at Mount Panorama.

The 2024 Supercars season will be the second of the Gen3 era of the championship, and will feature a newly crowned champion in Brodie Kostecki, who clinched the 2023 crown yesterday in Adelaide.

Eoin MacNeill, Vice President of Thrifty APAC, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership and forthcoming Supercars season.

"Thrifty is thrilled to again support the opening event of the Supercars season and to welcome a new year of racing at the iconic Mount Panorama for the Thrifty Bathurst 500. Our ongoing collaboration remains steadfast as Thrifty proudly continues its partnership with Will Brown, now a part of Red Bull Ampol Racing, underscoring our sustained commitment to the sport and its remarkable athletes.,” MacNeill said.

“As the official rental car partner of Supercars, we’re able to connect with motorsport enthusiasts across Australasia, offering them incredible deals and unmatched value for their next adventure."

Jamie Black, GM, Commercial of Supercars, extended a warm welcome back to Thrifty as the naming rights partner of the 2024 season opener.

"We are delighted to welcome Thrifty as the naming rights partner for the Bathurst 500, kicking off what promises to be an exhilarating 2024 Repco Supercars Championship season,” Black said.

“As Supercars’ official car rental partner, Thrifty's dedication to excellence and passion for innovation align seamlessly with the values of Supercars. We look forward to creating memorable moments for fans not just at the Thrifty Bathurst 500, but across the entire 2024 Repco Supercars Championship season.”

The 2024 driver market will feature plenty of shift from the current campaign, with several drivers set to race in new homes next year.

Chief among those changes is Thrifty ambassador Will Brown, whose high profile move to Triple Eight Race Engineering will be one of the key stories to follow in 2024.

Brown currently sits in fourth position with Erebus Motorsport, who can clinch the Supercars teams’ championship in today’s race at the 2023 VAILO Adelaide 500.

“It goes without saying that 2024 is going to be a big year for me personally, and also for Supercars, and to kick things off with the Thrifty Bathurst 500 is going to be amazing,” Brown said.

“As a driver, there’s nowhere better to race than Bathurst, and to start off the new season at the Mountain, with Thrifty supporting the first event of the year, is fantastic.

“I can't wait to hit the track and make the Bathurst 500 a race to remember, and I no doubt hope to raise a Thrifty trophy come the end of the day.”

The 2024 Repco Supercars Championship features 12 race events from February through November, with races taking place in seven states and territories, plus a return to New Zealand with the championship’s first ever race at Taupō International Motorsport Park.

Brown will be one of at least eight drivers racing in a new home when the 2024 season arrives, which will also include reigning Bathurst 1000 winner Richie Stanaway’s return to full-time racing, and the rookie debuts of Dunlop Series graduates Ryan Wood and Aaron Love, who step up to the main game from the Dunlop Super2 Series.

The 2023 Repco Supercars Championship season concludes today on the streets of Adelaide, where Brodie Kostecki will be officially crowned champion.

The 2024 Thrifty Bathurst 500 will kick off the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship across the February 23–25 weekend at the famed Mount Panorama.

General admission and grandstand tickets for the 2024 season opener are on sale as of today via Supercars.com and Ticketek. Campsites for the Thrifty Bathurst 500 go on sale Tuesday.
