Craig Lowndes has been untouchable on day two of the Tyrepower Tasmania SuperSprint, winning both 60km races off ARMOR ALL Pole Position and hugely improving his Championship standings, now sitting in second.
Lowndes again pounced off the start in the day's second race, this time getting the jump over teammate Jamie Whincup who started alongside.
It was a clean run into the turn four hairpin - which saw some action in the day's first race - and Lowndes led a straightforward race from start to finish, home ahead of Whincup by 1.6 seconds and Championship leader, Holden Racing Team's James Courtney.
"That's a credit to the guys made an adjust between race one and two today, temp cooled down car moved around more than I'd like, but still good," Lowndes said.
"It's great to have Jamie up - I know he battled hard in the first race - but good to have both cars up front.
"It's always nice to have victories everywhere you go, in V8 Supercars it's really tight, really tough... I'm looking forward to tomorrow."
Whincup had nothing but praise for his teammate, who chalked up his 99th win on his 550th V8 Supercars start.
"Absolutely smoked by Lowndes, he was out of there - he's doing a great job, he deserves to win," Whincup said.
"Good we've finally got a bit of pace to get on the podium."
There was an early intervention from the safety car to rescue a beached Andre Heimgartner, who speared into the kitty litter at turn four after a lock up. The SuperBlack rookie had started from fifth, an outstanding qualifying result for the 19-year old who had never raced at Symmons Plains.
The field was bunched up, but apart from Courtney grabbing third from David Reynolds, the order at the front of the field remained the same.
Reynolds came home fourth, with Garth Tander, Mark Winterbottom, Will Davison, Shane van Gisbergen, Scott McLaughlin and Fabian Coulthard completing the top 10.
