Supercars has announced a weekend attendance of 124,679 for the 2026 NTI Townsville 500.
Continuing its status as North Queensland's largest annual sporting event, this year's event featured three days of Supercars racing and the return of hugely popular entertainment for fans to enjoy.
From Wednesday's NTI Transporter Parade through to the final chequered flag on Sunday, Townsville was treated to five days of on and off-track entertainment.
Thursday's Track to Town and the return of the Palmer Street Party was a hit, with fans showing up in force at Tiny Mountain Brewery to meet the stars and cars of the Repco Supercars Championship on the eve of the first day of racing.
The expanded off-track entertainment program, including Summernats Goes Troppo and PBR Australia, brought bigger burnouts and high-energy bull riding to Friday and Saturday nights.
Further activations including wild FMX stunts, an expanded ADF display, performances from country musician Tori Darke, and much more made for a thrilling 20th Supercars event on the streets of Townsville.
“The NTI Townsville 500 continues to be one of the largest events on the Supercars calendar, and we are delighted to see the support from such a strong turnout from fans this weekend,” said Supercars Executive Chairman Barclay Nettlefold.
“Across three days of Supercars racing, fans were treated to the youngest field in Championship history going wheel-to-wheel, spectacular burnouts from the Summernats team, and an epic bull riding showdown from PBR Australia. It made for a huge weekend, with something for everyone.”
“Our team and event partners have put in an enormous effort to create an event that feels truly made for North Queensland and for the fans who travel here each year. We are proud to see that effort rewarded with such an enthusiastic crowd.”
The NTI Townsville 500 is proudly supported by the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ), the Townsville City Council, and Townsville Enterprise Limited.
