DJR swings latest change on Brodie Kostecki car
Shell Ford squad changes transaxle on #17 Mustang
DJR changed engine on #17 before Friday qualifying
The Shell V-Power Racing Team is leaving no stones unturned at Mount Panorama, swinging another key change to the Brodie Kostecki/Todd Hazelwood Ford.
As revealed on the broadcast, Dick Johnson Racing mechanics have swung a transaxle change on the #17 Mustang.
The change took place between Practice 6 and the Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootout, with Kostecki aiming for a record fourth consecutive Bathurst 1000 pole position.
The Ford squad has been receptive to any and every piece of feedback from its star driver, with a "doughy" engine necessitating an engine change before Friday's Boost Mobile Qualifying session.
Kostecki duly qualified fifth, second of the Fords, behind former teammate Will Brown.
A DJR spokesperson advised Supercars.com that Saturday's transaxle change is precautionary.
The champion team had already burned the midnight oil, having completed repairs on the damaged Rylan Gray/Tony D'Alberto Ford.
D'Alberto crashed in Friday morning practice, with repairs completed on the car at approximately 2:00am local time.
The Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootout will round out Saturday's action at 5:05pm AEDT, with Sunday's 161-lap race to commence at 11:30am local.
