Broc Feeney, Will Brown react to maiden Formula 1 laps
Triple Eight Supercars stars smash lap records at The Bend
Both drivers dip below official lap record of West Circuit
Broc Feeney and Will Brown have smashed the lap record at The Bend short circuit in a thrilling experience in Formula 1 machinery.
The Red Bull Ampol Racing drivers got behind the wheel of Red Bull Racing’s RB7 car, which was raced to championship success in 2011.
The RB7, which completed demonstration laps at the bp Adelaide Grand Final, was handed to Feeney and Brown at The Bend Motorsport Park last November.
Feeney and Brown both sat in the car in Adelaide during Grand Final weekend, in preparation for The Bend laps.

With ex-F1 drivers Scott Speed and Brendon Hartley watching on, Feeney and Brown both dipped below the previous lap record of the 3.4km West Circuit, listed as a 1:10.08s.
In a five-lap challenge, revealed in a video published Friday, Feeney clocked a fastest time of 1:06.6s, versus Brown’s 1:07.9s.
“I’m freaking out a little bit now," Feeney said before getting in the car.
“I don’t know how this would last at the Gold Coast, jumping the kerbs,” Brown joked.
Both drivers have open wheel experience, contesting last season’s New Zealand Grand Prix at Highlands.
Feeney claimed pole for the race, which was won by Brown, who contested the entire 2025 Toyota Formula Regional Oceania Championship season.
“This is pretty f***ing cool,” Feeney said as he took off on his first lap.
When he returned to the pits, he added: “I’m so sore... you’ve got to lean against the back. Otherwise… through some corners, I’m going crazy.
“I was so stoked I didn’t stall it.”
Feeney went into more detail at the 2025 Supercars Gala Awards, which were held after the laps, saying: “It was unreal. My neck is a little bit sore, but it was a lot of fun and so fast.
“I’m sure for all of us in here, we dream of driving an F1 car one day, and I never thought that day would come true, so thanks to Red Bull for making that happen.
“That’s something that I’ll never forget for the rest of my life."
The 2026 Supercars season commences in Sydney on February 20-22. Tickets are on sale now. International viewers can watch on SuperView.
