Wildcards Aaron Seton, Reuben Goodall react to Townsville weekends
Seton kept a clean pair of heels for MSR in maiden solo weekend
Goodall showed impressive speed, caught up in Sunday lap 1 incident
Both of the wildcard additions to the Supercars field in Townsville have been left buoyed by their weekends ahead of their upcoming Ryco Enduro Cup campaigns.
Aaron Seton and Reuben Goodall will feature again in the long-distance races, alongside Zach Bates and Thomas Randle respectively, and had openly admitted that the weekend was all about logging miles.
Seton did just that, running a third Matt Stone Racing Camaro paying homage to his favour Glenn's 1993 ATCC championship-winning Ford.
The 28-year-old recorded trouble-free runs to 26th, 23rd, and 22nd over the course of the three races, and was particularly enthused by his pace in the final race.
When asked if he had enjoyed the weekend on Supercars' Equip Super Cool Down Lap podcast, the third-generation Seton replied: "Yeah absolutely, really positive day today.
"I feel like that was the best the car felt all weekend, and a lot closer to the front of the pack in Q1 to the guys.
"I think it was a really successful weekend in terms of just stepping forward every session, trying to limit mistakes, and just gained miles for QR.
"It's obviously a tough track here, coming to Townsville, it's kerbs, it's physical, it's heat, everything like that. Looking forward to putting what I learned this weekend into action at QR and see how we go."
Whilst Seton will return to the grid in the same car at Ipswich in August, Goodall's next competitive Supercars outing will come when he joins Randle for the AirTouch 500 at The Bend.
The Tickford Super2 impressed through the weekend with his speed, qualifying 19th for Saturday's race, and missed progressing to Q2 by just 0.03s.
When Supercars.com asked Goodall how he would sum up his weekend, the 22-year-old replied: "Not good, not bad.

"We did what we came out to do and that was just turn laps and learn. Qualifying on Saturday was great, I never thought I'd ever be happy to qualify 19th, as much as I would've loved to break into the top 18."
However, Goodall was caught up as an innocent victim in the opening lap shenanigans on Sunday, with the #5 Mustang ending up parked in the Turn 3 runoff after clipping Macauley Jones' parked Supra.
After dragging the car back to the pits, the wildcard Tickford crew were able to turn the car around and get Goodall a classified finish of 23rd, 16 laps off the pace.
"Obviously Sunday wasn't ideal, I thought I was going to get through and then I just clipped Macca's car," Goodall said.
"I thought I'd got away with it and then I went to brake for Turn 3 and the car wouldn't stop or turn, and I thought 'Oh this isn't good.'
"Massive credit to the crew at Tickford, they got the car back into Mickey Mouse shape. They don't work on the cars week in week out like everyone else does.
"The Sunday race was probably the highlight of my weekend, and it was great to get some more laps under my belt. At the end of the day, I feel so much better prepared for the enduros, and so much more confident on a green tyre now than I was at the start of the weekend."
Goodall will return to the DUNLOP Super2 Series at the Bosch Power Tools Perth Super 440 from July 31-August 2.
