Broc Feeney, Kai Allen, and Matt Payne form youngest ever Supercars podium
Average age of top three 21 years, 290 days old
Allen claims second-straight podium in final race as a teenager
If it wasn't already apparent, the future has arrived in the Repco Supercars Championship.
Broc Feeney's dominant win in Race 19 of 2025 season at the betr Darwin Triple Crown was historic for the 22-year-old, as he became the first driver to claim three wins in a weekend at Hidden Valley Raceway.
However, that wasn't the only piece of history that the Red Bull Ampol Racing young gun was a part of this afternoon, as he and fellow podium placegetters Kai Allen and Matt Payne created their own history.
Feeney and the Penrite Racing duo broke the record for the youngest podium in the history of the Australian Touring Car Championship/Supercars Championship, which has been held since Perth in 2023.
At that stage, Feeney (who was then 20) was joined on the podium by Will Brown (24) and Brodie Kostecki (25), who combined for an average age of 23 years and 234 days old.
However, that record has been comprehensively beaten by the efforts of now-22-year-old Feeney, fellow 22-year-old Payne, and 19-year-old Allen, who turns 20 this coming Thursday.
Their combined age of 21 years, 290 days old points towards the youth shift in the Supercars Championship, with all three drivers making their Supercars debuts as teenagers.
For Allen it ended a remarkable weekend, having claimed his first podium in Race 18 yesterday, and driving past his teammate Payne on another superb strategy play by Penrite Racing.
"Honestly, if I could get a couple of top 10's I would be stoked, but to get two podiums is pretty surreal," said Allen.
"To drive that race, the pace the car had, Alistair [McVean, race engineer] absolutely nailed the set up, and the team are doing an unbelievable job.
"Matty recovered to third, we got a 2-3 as a team, and huge Teams Championship points, huge for my points, so I'm so stoked."
The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship resumes at the NTI Townsville 500 on July 11-13. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
