Will Davison set to shake down new DJR Ford Mustang
Two-time Bathurst winner to race Erebus-built chassis in Ipswich
Rising stars to also undertake tests at Winton this weekend
Dick Johnson Racing is preparing to shake down a new Shell V-Power Racing Team Ford Mustang for Will Davison later this week, ahead of its racing debut in Perth.
DJR began the season with two chassis from different manufacturers, with new recruit Brodie Kostecki in a chassis built by Erebus fabricator James White.
Davison began the season in a PACE Innovations chassis, with DJR working on his Erebus-built chassis throughout the year.
DJR confirmed to Supercars.com that the new car will make its track debut at a Queensland Raceway shakedown on Wednesday, before it rolls out at the Bosch Power Tools Perth Super 440 on June 6-8.
The 2025 season is the first for Erebus selling chassis to other teams, with DJR and Blanchard Racing Team its first two customers. BRT is planning to debut a new car for James Courtney in Townsville in July.
Davison's new chassis will help DJR correlate data and feel between its two cars, with Davison's current car set to be reverted to a spare.
The new DJR Ford won't be the only Supercar on track this week, with a number of young guns set to get behind the wheel at Winton Motor Raceway.
Tickford Racing has slated two days of testing for wildcard drivers Lochie Dalton and Rylan Gray, who will be joined by mentor Mark Winterbottom at Winton.
Dalton and Gray will make solo wildcard starts in Perth and Darwin respectively before they combine for a tilt at both races in the Enduro Cup, at The Bend and Mount Panorama.
Walkinshaw Andretti United driver Ryan Wood is also set to undertake a rookie day at Winton, as will Blanchard Racing Team driver Aaron Cameron.
The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship will resume in Perth on June 6-8. Tickets are on sale now.
