Triple Eight Race Engineering has been forced into repairs on Will Brown's Chevrolet Camaro after a bizarre pit lane incident with Nick Percat.

Percat hit the rear of Brown's car as they rounded pit entry at the end of Practice 2 in Tasmania, which was topped by Brown's teammate Broc Feeney.

After the initial contact, per onboard vision published by Supercars.com, Brown then applied the brakes, triggering further contact.

Brown then swerved out of the fast lane in front of the Blanchard Racing Team garage.

Both drivers' team radios lit up. Brown claimed "Percat tried turning me in pit lane," while Matt Stone Racing driver Percat claimed the reigning champion brake-tested him.

Brown later took to social media, writing: "@nickpercat if you want to try and get a deal on a used car next time just ask."

Brown's comments are in reference to his life outside racing, being a used car salesman for his father's business in Toowoomba.

Percat commented on the post, "I'm not buying a car from a dodgy used car salesman like you," complete with a laughing emoji.

Over two hours after Practice 2 ended, Triple Eight was still undertaking repairs to Brown's car, with the contact causing significant rear damage.

Brown ended up third in the session, with Percat 20th.

The incident was later referred to the stewards, with a hearing set to take place on Friday evening.

Supercars action in Tasmania will resume on Saturday with back-to-back Boost Mobile Qualifying sessions from 9:05am AEST.

Drivers will contest two 120km races on Saturday, the first on the Super Soft tyre, and the second on the Soft compound.
