When and where fans can meet Supercars stars in Tasmania

Supercars drivers will take over Tasmania in the lead up to this year’s Snowy River Caravans Tasmania Super 440, with fans in Launceston set to attend a free autograph session featuring the full field of Repco Supercars Championship stars.

Held at the National Automobile Museum of Tasmania, the free Launceston event will take place on Thursday 8 May, kicking off from 3:00pm with a live outside broadcast from Tasmania’s LAFM. From 4:30pm to 5:30pm, fans will get the rare chance to meet and get autographs from every Supercars driver on the grid.

The event follows the return of the Hobart Street Party, taking over Princes Wharf No. 1 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm on Wednesday 7 May, bringing race cars and drivers into the heart of Hobart. The Street Party will also spotlight rising local talent in the Dunlop Super2 Series, as the Supercars community embraces Tasmania ahead of a huge weekend of racing.

This year’s event at the iconic Symmons Plains Raceway marks a major shift in the Supercars calendar, as fans witness a brand-new racing format debut on the Apple Isle.

Friday sees Supercars hit the track for two 30-minute practice sessions, before Saturday starts with back-to-back qualifying for Races 11 and 12, followed by two action-packed 120km races.

On Sunday, which doubles as Mother’s Day, drivers will battle through a three-part knockout qualifying session before the 200km Race 13.

Support categories will add even more excitement, with racing from the Dunlop Super2 Series, V8 SuperUtes, and Touring Car Masters. For the first time ever, the Super2 Series will stage a Top Five Shootout on Sunday, bringing a thrilling new element to Symmons Plains.

Supercars fans young and old are encouraged to attend both the Hobart and Launceston events to get up close with their favourite drivers and soak up the energy ahead of one of Tasmania’s biggest motorsport weekends.
